Our heart is to serve and be a tool for the local church! We believe ministry should go through the local church, under the authority of the local church so the local church takes ownership of the ministry.
Work Ourselves Out of a Job?
We continually look at how we can be a better and greater benefit to the local church. Recently we have concluded that one of the best things we could do to help the local church is to work ourselves out of a job because we have equipped and trained the church to be able to do a VBS on their own.

The church basically takes responsibility for putting on the VBS on their own or with a little assistance from CEF of MT.
Church uses the basic format of how we do a VBS and will use our curriculum. CEF of Montana will offer consulting and training based on this.
Two Options
1. Need just a little help
The church takes responsibility to carry out our general format and use our curriculum for the VBS with some assistance from CEF of Montana. The church would need to purchase a ministry kit for the VBS through CEF of Montana ($75 plus shipping). We would provide a coordinator to be sure the roles outlined in the agreement form are being fulfilled. CEF of Montana will provide one worker on location during the VBS to be responsible for teaching the Bible lesson and possibly the Missionary Story. We will provide online training to equip the church to use our format and curriculum. We can also provide a “tub” with some of the ministry materials to help with the VBS.
2. Ready to try on our own
The church takes full responsibility to carry out our general format and use our curriculum for the VBS. The church would need to purchase a ministry kit for the VBS through CEF of Montana ($75 plus shipping). CEF of Montana will assign a Ministry Coordinator to provide consulting to assist the church as needed. CEF of Montana will provide online training to equip the church to use our format and curriculum.
Change Your Mind
Sometimes things don’t go as planned! You just can’t seem to get things in place to do this. It’s ok! If you let us know by May 1, 2022 we can bring a team to put on the VBS with your assistance.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much will this cost the church?
CEF of Montana does not charge for our services. A ministry kit is required to purchase ($75 plus shipping). If we send an individual to participate we would expect the church to house and feed the individual.
How does CEF fund this ministry?
We believe God provides funding for His ministry. We trust God’s people and churches to give to our ministry as He leads them.
What time frame is needed to train our people involved with the VBS?
We will have our online training available by April 1, 2022. It will be up to the church to put the effort into learning the different parts of the VBS.
How does CEF help us prepare for the 3 Day VBS
A Ministry Coordinator will work with the Pastor or Church coordinator. We have an agreement form and instruction sheet so it is clear what must be done. We also provide promotional material.
Is the church responsible for doing background checks?
The church will be responsible for its Child Protection Policy which includes Background checks.
